Jojo was raised in poverty and lived a life of crime to fuel her drug habit. She spent a combined eight years behind bars for theft, credit card fraud, and drug possession.

Jojo has been sober for seven years and a proud mom of five adult children. Today she is happily married to her husband of six years and she shares her story on social media–not to glorify prison, but to inspire young people to choose a different path.

She joined the program to be a listening ear to young inmates struggling with addiction, and to help the sheriff understand how dangerous drugs are entering the facility. She hopes to encourage those younger inmates to not go down a path of drugs, and that their lives are worth much more than where they are now.
