When 21-year-old Jake Patterson forced his way into a Wisconsin home in October 2018, he shot and killed James and Denise Closs and then fled with the couple’s 13-year-old daughter, Jayme, to his remote home 70 miles away. After 88 days in captivity, Jayme managed to escape and seek the help of neighbors. Patterson received two life sentences without the possibility of parole.
