Three weeks after Korean-American high school student Hae Min Lee went missing, her strangled body was found in a Baltimore park. The 18-year-old’s ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was found guilty of murder in 2000 and sentenced to life in prison, though his conviction was vacated in 2022 after the 2014 podcast “Serial” revealed flaws in the prosecution’s case. His conviction was then reinstated in 2024.
