The Boston Belfry Murderer kills his first victim

Thomas Piper, a church sexton dubbed the Boston Belfry Murderer, brutally killed multiple women in 1870s Boston – most notably a 5-year-old girl named Mabel Young whom he bludgeoned in the belfry of the Baptist church where he worked. He later confessed to multiple killings and was hanged in 1876.
