Edmund Kemper is one of America’s most notorious serial killers. After killing his grandparents with a rifle at age 15, he was sent to a California mental hospital for five years. A few years after his release, he went on an 11-month killing spree. He murdered six young women, decapitated and dismembered their bodies and engaged in necrophilia. Most of his victims were hitchhiking college students, but he also killed his own mother and her friend. In 1973, he turned himself in to authorities and received a life sentence.
