Melissa Bannen wore a Big Bird sweater to the holiday party she attended with her single mom, Tammy, in their apartment complex in Lorton, Virginia. But the 5-year-old disappeared during the party and has never been seen since. Caleb Hughes, a handyman at the complex, was convicted of abduction with intent to defile. (Fibers matching that Big Bird sweater were found in his car, but no body was ever recovered.) He served 29 years of a 50-year sentence.
