Ten-year-old Natascha Kampusch was walking to her school in Vienna, Austria, when she was dragged into a white minivan by a man who held her captive for eight years in an underground cellar beneath his garage. At age 18, she managed to run away when her kidnapper, Wolfgang Přiklopil, was distracted by a phone call. Within hours of her escape, Přiklopil killed himself by jumping in front of a train.
