Retired handyman John Jamelske built a concrete bunker beneath his home near Syracuse, N.Y., where he held a series of women and teenage girls captive and repeatedly raped them. His fifth victim, a 16-year-old runaway, managed to sneak a call to her sister that led to his arrest. He was sentenced to 18 years to life in prison.
