PhD. Mathematics, University of Chicago
Born after the rise and subsequent fall of the post-Sputnik "New Math" movement, Lawrence Dursey is a recognized leader of the classicist revival math movement (a.k.a "Old School Math"). Before being recruited to Woodbine, Lawrence taught several advanced mathematics courses at the graduate level but still received numerous collegiate commendations for his tireless attention to the undergraduate student body, particularly incoming freshmen. Outside of Woodbine, Dursey indulges his diverse set of interests; serving on the board of the Brooklyn Ballet and coaching women's volleyball. He is also a well-known personality in online cinema criticism, authoring articles on actors such as Richard Roundtree, Rudy Ray Moore, and Barbara Streisand.
Lawrence Dursey is played by Isaiah Johnson.
