John Carrol Lynch returns as Jim's first, and only, partner since working with the FDLE, Mike Ogletree. As you may remember from the pilot episode, Ogletree is in prison for the murder of his wife. John has an extensive resume of work in TV and film, including a role on The Drew Carey Show as Drew's brother, Steve. He also had a small, but memorable role as the Martin, the barter, in Clint Eastwood's critically acclaimed film, Gran Torino. He may not have appeared for long in the movie, but he's in one of the most talked about scenes.
Kelly Makin returns to the set of The Glades to direct the show for the third time. He previously directed the episodes "Lost and Found" and "Breakout" from Season 2. He's also known for his work on the series Kids in the Hall, Queer as Folk, and Flashpoint.
The opening scene where the joggers are running was filmed in Miami's beautiful Oleta River State Park.
For scenes at the bar Coconuts, we filmed at Anglesea Pub in Pompano Beach. The owners and patrons had a great time, especially when Matt signed a T-shirt to display on the wall.
The jail courtyard is actually the old Broward County Stockade. We also filmed here for a scene from Season 1 when Jeff visits his dad Ray in prison.
Among her many TV roles, Rena Sofer, who plays Alexis Cane, starred on 24 along with Carlos Gomez (though not at the same time). The two actors also starred at different times on Criminal Minds.
The plotline involving the illegal use of industrial grade silicone in breast implants was taken from news headlines around the world. Since the silicone breast implant was introduced to the U.S. in the 1960s, the FDA has monitored the kinds of silicone used in them. The administration even outright banned all silicone implants from 1992-2006 because of safety concerns. However, in other countries, particularly those in Europe and South America, there has been widespread use of breast implants containing industrial grade silicone over the years. Some countries are even paying for implant replacement surgery for women fitted with these dangerous implants.
Tuc Watkins, who plays Dr. Brett Denning, is perhaps most famous for his role as Bob Hunter on Desperate Housewives.
