As Carrie’s partner, acclaimed detective Al Burns is known for his street smarts, his courage, and his ability to put up with Carrie. The two of them fell head over heels for each other years ago working for the Syracuse PD, and after a decade apart, have reunited in the Big Apple to lend their talents to the city’s most high-profile police unit, Major Crimes. Having made it through a torrid love affair and equally torrid breakup, Al and Carrie both know that if they’re going to be partners, they can’t rock the boat too much doing the kind of things that can rock boats. So they try to keep an arm’s distance between them, an effort that will prove increasingly difficult over time.
Prior to Unforgettable, Dylan Walsh is best known for his starring role on the award-winning television series Nip/Tuck. His recent television credits include a recurring role on NCIS: New Orleans, a series lead role on Brooklyn South, recurring roles on Revenge, Castle and Everwood, as well as appearances in the television movies Final Voyage and More Than Meets the Eye: The Joan Brock Story.
Walsh made his feature film debut in Where The Heart Is. He has just wrapped principal photography on two features; Authors Anonymous with Kaley Cuoco and Teri Polo, and the lead role in C Street. His other film credits include Secretariat opposite Diane Lane, The Stepfather, Prom Night, The Lake House opposite Sandra Bullock, We Were Soldiers directed by Clint Eastwood, Nobody’s Fool opposite Dustin Hoffman, and the independent film Par 6.
Born in Los Angeles, Walsh spent the first 10 years of his life in Africa, India, and Indonesia with his parents, who were in the United States Foreign Service. His family later settled in Annandale, Va. He made his acting debut in high school, appearing at the Arena Stage and the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C. Although he was an English major at the University of Virginia, he spent most of his time in the theater department, and appeared with the Heritage Repertory Company in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Curse of the Starving Class, Romeo and Juliet, Death of a Salesman, and Our Town.
Walsh lives in New York and Los Angeles. His birthday is Nov. 17.
