ABOUT THE SHOW
As an official photographer for FEMA, Andrea Booher had unprecedented access to the operations at Ground Zero. Over a period of two and a half months, she took thousands of photos, recording as much contact information as she could. As the tenth anniversary of the attacks approached, she set out to find some of those subject, and hear their stories.
Using hundreds of her images from Ground Zero, Portraits of Ground Zero follows Booher as she reunites with the people in her pictures and shares memories of the unprecedented operation they were involved in a decade ago. Ground Zero is recovering from its trauma and coming back - changed, to be sure, but surviving. Perhaps the same might eventually be true for the people she met and photographed on that same spot ten years earlier.
