| Detroit PD is the 10th largest police department in the nation with 3,200 sworn officers and civilian employees. It takes a special type of officer to become one of the 21 members on Detroit's Special Response Team (SRT). This elite tactical group responds to armed, barricaded gunpersons and runs high-risk homicide and narcotics warrants.
Upon becoming a member of the team, each person is given a 'code name' based on a particular trait or action. Smooth, Diesel, Condor, Malibu, Goldmember, Swank, Batman and Highlander are just a few. Once the team picks a code name, that's it, there's no changing it. |
