Maurizio Gucci, the former head of the Gucci fashion house, was shot dead outside his office in Milan, Italy, in 1995. The killer turned out to be a hitman hired by his socialite ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani, who served 18 years in prison for her role in the crime. (The case inspired Ridley Scott’s 2021 movie "House of Gucci,” starring Lady Gaga as Reggiani.)
