Days before Christmas, fire ravaged the Corsicana, Texas, home that Cameron Todd Willingham shared with his wife and three daughters. Cameron, who was asleep when the fire started, survived; his wife was shopping for presents at the time. But all three girls, ages 1 to 2, perished. Prosecutors argued that Willingham intentionally set the fire to kill his children, bringing in forensic experts and a jailhouse informant who claimed Willingham had confessed. He was executed in 2004 though the Innocence Project and others raised serious doubts about the quality of the forensic evidence in the case.
