12.29.1997

Orville Lynn Majors was a practical nurse who earned the moniker “Angel of Death” for murdering elderly patients in the rural Indiana hospital where he worked between 1993 and 1995. He was arrested in 1997 after a two-year investigation that found patients were 42 times more likely to die when he was on duty. He was convicted of six counts of murder and died in prison in 2017 at age 56.
