Captain Holly

Austin EMS

Holly was born in Austin, Texas and was raised on Lake Travis where she spent all of her extra time water skiing on anything she could tow behind a boat or fishing and swimming. It was here she was first exposed to EMS after watching them work on a skier she witnessed crash onto the shore and go unconscious. After this she was hooked and wanted to know and do more. She worked as a Vet Tech while attending Lake Travis High School then attended St. Edward’s University on an athletic scholarship playing soccer. After playing soccer she decided to leave St. Edwards and enroll in a Paramedic program at Austin Community College. During the Paramedic program she returned back to the fast paced and action packed Lake where she worked as the Manager at the U-FLoat-M on Lake Travis, often swimming to work. Still eager to practice paramedicine, she returned to Austin where she worked in the emergency room at Seton Northwest and as a lifeguard at Barton Springs Pool. During this time, she attended Texas State University where she competed on the Texas State Water Ski Team and received her Bachelors. She joined the Austin EMS team and hasn’t looked back since. Currently she is a member of the Bike Team and the PEER Support Team. Between work and family commitments she works for two local ESD’s teaching and reviewing patient care records. On her days off she is with her family, either on the lake skiing and swimming, hitting the Texas Hill Country trails on a mountain bike, or at the coast fishing, surfing or snorkeling… and drinking coffee… lots and lots of coffee.
