Audrey

Austin EMS

Audrey moved from a small town in north Texas to Austin in 2007 to attend the University of Texas at Austin. After obtaining a Bachelors in Kinesiology and a minor in Educational Psychology, she still didn’t quite know what she wanted to do, so she went to EMT school the summer after she graduated UT. Audrey fell in love with EMS and got hired by Austin-Travis County EMS in February 2013. She then obtained her Licensed Paramedic while working full time with ATCEMS and has been working at the Paramedic level for almost two years. Audrey loves the critical thinking and autonomy of being a Paramedic and states that in order to take care of a patient you have to be able to multitask, put all the puzzle pieces together, and adapt when things don’t go as planned. She loves making organization out of chaos. Audrey believes that this job teaches her something new every shift – not only about medicine but about herself and life in general, and plans on be becoming a training officer and also teaching down the road. Audrey’s husband also works for ATCEMS (they were both hired in the same Academy), and they have their first child on the way. In her off time, Audrey enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, doing photography for family and friends, and working on home renovations to their 7.5 acre country property. She also really enjoys breakfast tacos, or any Austin food in general.
