Sam Blankenship

Director of Adoptions

Sam has been in animal rescue for the past five years. He heads up multiple programs at Animal Humane, including adoptions, admissions, behavior, foster, and mobile events.

Sam also runs the statewide transfer program, Project Fetch. Project Fetch pulls dogs from high-kill shelters and transfers them to Albuquerque, NM for placement. In addition, Sam volunteers with the ASPCA first responder unit and has worked on the medical team that made the second largest dog fighting bust in US history.

When he’s not working, he’s jamming in award-winning indie rock band, Kid Dinosaur. He owns a six-year-old American Pit Bull named Olivia and a five-year-old Corgi named Bama.
