Danielle Buenaventura from Cement Heads

Danielle Buenaventura

Danielle is the founder and owner of WJL Equities with her husband Billy. She was already in the contracting business when the couple met by chance on a flight. She has been featured in a number of magazines and newspapers and has made a name for herself by not only being a female in a male-dominated industry, but also for being one of the most successful contractors in the industry.

While Billy operates out of a construction trailer in the company’s cement yard in the Bronx near Hunt’s Point, Danielle operates mainly out of their Eastchester office, or “corporate headquarters,” as they call it. However, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t keep on eye on everything going on at the yard. Sophisticated security cameras installed after a number of break-ins allow Danielle, otherwise known as “the boss,” to see what Billy is up to at any time, and she’s not afraid to call and ask, “Why is everyone just sitting around?”

Danielle is proud of her Latin heritage, but is a New Yorker through and through. When her father, Lincoln, visits frequently from South America, it drives Billy crazy because Danielle says, “My father is my number one guy. Always has been, always will be.”
