Construction Office Manager: Krista Schoenbaum
Introduction

Welcome to The Cleaner (Season 2) Construction Dept. My name is Krista and I am the construction office manager. I will be giving you an inside look at what it entails to build some of the amazing sets that you see on your television screen.

Before I show you our work, I should tell you a bit about our dept. Our job is to build the sets that the production designer creates for the show. The head of our dept, Construction Coordinator Mike Brooks, works with designer, Tom Fichter, and the art dept to create a plan for what needs to get done in order for the sets to be built in the time frame required. We all work together as a team, along with the set decoration dept, who add wonderful detail to the sets.

Now once we figure out what needs to be done we have to start building. We cannot always build in the actual space where the set will be located. We build most of our sets in the mill on the studio lot. For this show, the mill is not just for us. We share it with construction crews from other shows. Right now there are about 4 crews building sets in this space. It can get pretty packed.

The episode, which I will feature, is called "The Path of Least Resistance". For this episode, there were two main projects that we were working on. The first was turning an auto plaza office into a Rehab Facility. The second was taking an open room on the lot and making it a hospital hallway and room.

Alright, now onto the sets!
