Sandy Banks

Sandy Banks was a member of the Los Angeles Times' reporting team that won the Pulitzer Prize for its riot coverage Her 36-year career at the newspaper included serving as a reporter, editorial writer, assistant metropolitan editor, and director of the newsroom's diversity efforts. She is best known for her Times columns, which offered a personal perspective on social and economic issues and served as a voice for the ignored, unknown, or unheard. She is now a senior fellow at the University of Southern California Annenberg Center on Communication, Leadership and Policy.
