Teenager Kimberly Pitchford disappears from her Houston high school

Kimberly Pitchford, a shy 16-year-old high school sophomore in Houston, had finished her first driver’s ed class when she disappeared. Two days later, her partially clad body was found floating in a canal 30 miles away – one of dozens of corpses discovered between the 1970s and 1991 in the area surrounding Houston's Interstate 45 that became known as the Texas Killing Fields. Pitchford’s murder remains unsolved.
