Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 was en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, Kenya, when three men stormed the cockpit and hijacked the plane demanding to go to Australia. Running out of fuel and ordered not to stop, the pilots attempted an emergency landing in the Indian Ocean near the Comoros Islands. The plane broke apart on impact, killing 125 of the 175 people on board, including all three hijackers.
