FOLLOW-UP: 10 months after Lataevia's death, her mother, Latonya Williams is still coping with her loss. "The hardest part is knowing that she will never grow up to have the future she dreamed of or have a family of her own," Ms. Williams says.
FOLLOW-UP: Lataevia's mother knows that she was capable of so many things and believes she would have touched many lives with her vibrant spirit and love of life. She was a straight "A" student who enjoyed hanging out with her friends and her two younger brothers, taking photos and boxing.
FOLLOW-UP: Shortly after the filming of "Birthday Girl" the family purchased a headstone for the gravesite. Ms. Williams recently returned to work after taking some time off to grieve.
