Sylvia has a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, a Master Addictions Counselor, a Board Registered Interventionist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Sylvia has served on multiple Professional Practice Board of Directors and is on the planning committee for The Emerald School of Excellence Recovery High School and is actively involved with the Collegiate Recovery Community. She is the founder of Stop It Where It Starts, a nonprofit organization designed to introduce Substance Use Awareness to the Education Majors in our Colleges and Universities. Sylvia has worked in multiple treatment arenas and now enjoys her private therapy practice. Sylvia is an expert in the field of addiction, loves working with individuals and their families, presents educational symposiums at recovery events, and has been in recovery since June 6, 2006.
