There are a variety of organizations, local and national, that assist families of homicide victims. National nonprofit organizations like The Parents of Murdered Children hold meetings for bereavement support, distribute monthly newsletters to educate and commemorate, and organize various panels and workshops to memorialize the deceased and help heal the wounds of homicide. In addition, there are regional organizations, like Victims to Victory located in Memphis, TN, that offer similar support and services. Most of these nonprofit organizations rely heavily on donations and volunteer efforts.

Police departments around the country also have programs that not only offer emotional counsel, but connect families to local support services, provide information on their legal rights, and assist in applying for financial aid for funeral costs.

Below is a list of these and other organizations that help the families of homicide victims. Many of these programs need support from the community in order to continue providing quality assistance and guidance.
