Kelly Makin, the director of "Lost and Found," is the show's first director from Canada. Ay!
The special effect of the girl at the sleepover, floating off the floor during the game of "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board," was crated by the special effects (FX) department. It was a type of seesaw unit, placed underneath the actress's body and controlled by the FX coordinator off-camera.
The fireflies used in the scene where the girls were outside trying to capture the insects in jars, were added during post-production using a CGI method (computer graphic imaging).
The crime scene/search and rescue area was actually various areas of Flamingo Gardens, a plant and nursery housing different kinds of animals. The south Florida nursery has been around since the 1930s.
The boat slips and bar scene were filmed at the same location, Dockers Restaurant & Marina in Dania Beach Florida. The boat's name ("My Escape") was applied by the show's scenic department.
Baby Cody was actually played by two sets of twin boys, and while they looked like babies, they performed like seasoned veterans.
