The gentleman's club where Dr. Pierre Toussaint is murdered is an actual strip club called Pure Platinum Strip Club. The director wanted the scene to be as authentic as possible. We think he did a great job.
Richard Burgi, who plays Dr. Grant in the episode, had a starring role on Desperate Housewives, or at least he did before his character's untimely death. Interestingly, his character, Karl Mayer, left his ex-wife part ownership of a strip club in his will.
In more Richard Burgi news, the actor also guest starred on another A&E drama, Breakout Kings. He played Andre Brennan, a jewel thief. A strip club was not involved.
The drugstore where Jim Longworth confronts Laurie Fisher was filmed at Rexall Drugs in Dania Beach, Florida. The show's construction and set decorating departments turned an abandoned building into the Wellness Center. The two sets were within walking distance from each other.
The nursing home used in the scene where Michael Caldwell takes an elderly woman hostage is an actual working nursing home in Wilton Manors, Florida. The cast had a ball working with the retirees who lived at the home. It was the most excitement the residents had in years!
Dr. Toussaint's apartment was also staged at the nursing home. The crew tries to keep a tight budget when they shoot and create different sets on the same location if possible.
The parking lot where Longworth confronts Dr. Grant at the hospital is the back lot of the show's soundstage in Pembroke Pines.
