Wardrobe Department: Joseph Porro
Entry #8
Wednesday
We start the day with reviewing what is needed for pick-ups and tying up loose ends. Our actor playing the transsexual is scheduled for a refit later in the day, so his alterations have to be done by then.
Later today we fit the Father character of our show. He plays a tow truck driver and his clothes are very utilitarian. The fitting goes well with several changes including boxer shorts and a tee when he's woken up from bed in one scene. We pin his clothes and put them in alterations.
Our lead actress Amy Price-Francis who plays William Bank's wife Melissa, comes in for her weekly fitting. She tries on real estate agent gear plus some at home changes. We try to use as much color as possible to show off her beautiful red hair and blue eyes. The fitting goes well. Several pieces are sent to alterations.
Our Transexual character is back for second fitting. We go through the process again and put on his undergarments. The Director and one of our producers come to the fitting with our Hair Department head Steven Mack. Our producer Robert Munic feels I have gone too far in dressing this character. Too much drag queen not enough real girl. Back to the drawing board. After several changes we come up with a look that they are happy with. This involves him wearing a loose floral cotton shirt tied at the waist. I make a note to check my own closet for floral shirts as the actor and I are the same size.
It's 8:30 at night and I'm on the second rung of one of my closets searching through casual shirts. I luck out and find four shirts that might work. Leave them by the front door so I won't forget them the next morning.
