Entry #11

Monday

Reiley McClendon

I start the day with the alarm clock waking me out of a deep slumber. Its 5:00 A.M. and the start of another week of wall to wall celebrities and glamour. Some how I know I'll get through it...

I have a few more fittings today. The street pimp, who we are dressing in that over the top Ed Hardy style gear. A fan at a bookstore. I call my set person Pamela and tell her to give me a ten minute heads up when they are bringing the Transsexual actor to set. The call comes around noon. Kathy and I race over to set. It's the church in Studio City where Ronald Reagan married Nancy. I found that fact a bit amusing. I'm sure Ronnie would not approve. So I wait by the catering truck with the director as the young P.A. comes over. Our transsexual is ready to be approved. We walk over to the make-up trailer as he(She) exits. He looks great. Very believable. I think our hard work paid off. Now it's up to the actor to give it his heart and soul and make the audience believe that he really is a transsexual. I wish him the best. As I walk away to my car my head starts reeling on the next episode. Ballet dancer on Oxycotin...full dance troop in costumes...seven days to make it happen...hmmm. So much glamour, so little time!
