My Long Day Without My Mother

Today, I drove to the set for the first time without my mother, a little geeky to be excited about, but it was a rush for me. I was pretty early because I wanted to get to set in plenty of time considering that it was my first time alone and that I had to be shuttled to the location that we were filming earlier in the day. I had to break my routine today because when I got to set, no one was there; they were all "on location". Still I dropped my stuff off in my dressing room, and then hopped in a van so I could get to where hair and make-up were; which was about 5 minutes away. I got there, got my hair done, then it was time for lunch.

After lunch, all of the trucks, cast, and crew went back to our sound stage. I was supposed to film right after everyone and everything was back, but we changed the shooting order so my scene was now last. This meant that I had about three hours to kill before I would have to even rehearse. I decided that this would be a perfect time to get some school work done. I went up to my room and worked on algebra 2 for and hour and a half and got a lot done so that was a nice weight off my shoulders.

On the Set

Since I had gotten done the school I wanted to, I decided to wander around for a bit. My journey started in the production office where I talked about my blog, Danny's blog, and pretty much anything that came up. It was nice to goof off for a little. After some more wandering I found myself back in my dressing room going over the scene that I had to shoot later. I figured that I better perform it perfectly after all the extra time I had.

Finally, about three hours and fifteen minutes later, it was time for rehearsal. We rehearsed quickly, and then in no time, we were shooting. Everything went very well, with the exception of me hitting my head on the door frame of the truck while getting into it before one take. I didn't end up leaving set until 8:00 pm, but it was a great day. Three great days out of three total days of work; that seems like pretty good odds, doesn't it?
