Alexander King was raised in many different places across the country but thinks of himself as a true Southerner at heart. King’s varied background and self-described “Redneck Gypsy” upbringing played a considerable role in his musical influences, often relaying the impact his travels have had on his musical style. Throughout his early career King wrote, produced, and appeared on a number of underground mix tapes and indie releases with local Nashville bands and artists. He released Reincarnated, his debut solo album, in 2009 and has recently had the opportunity to work with such influential artists as Kris Kristofferson and Jamey Johnson. King co-wrote several cuts on Warner Nashville artist Big Smo’s Kuntry Livin album, and for the past three years, has been touring as a part of Big Smo’s live show. When not out on the road, King spends his downtime with family, building muscle cars, mud boarding, and enjoying life to its limits. Driven, loyal, full of energy, and wildly ambitious, King is currently working on his sophomore album American Gypsy.
