At the tender age of 19, Michael became an exotic dancer in an all-mall revue in Guam. Looking to add some sexy ink to his back, he ended up with this terrifying tattoo.
"This thing is just awful," Dirk says. "The lines are bold and scarred. There's a lot of challenges there. It's going to be a long sitting for him." Michael takes a seat and prepares for the pain.
With Dirk's help, Michael is able to treat his wife of 25 years to a new, beautiful back. Now that's an anniversary present.
Dirk and Ruckus have a big laugh thanks to Jules' unusual tattoo. Her Pac-Man-headed, beer drinking, lawnmower man really makes an impression. Especially when the guys realize what it is that he's mowing.
Dirk settles in to fix up Jules' tattoo. He's hoping he can come up with a classy design that will make a more positive impression.
It's a tricky area to work in, but Jules handles the pain like a champ.
Jules' new tattoo starts to take shape. "I loved how the Pac-Man head became the center of a flower," says Dirk. "It seems like an easy fix, but I love those accidents sometimes when I'm designing a cover up and something works out. That thing was already there, so I used it."
Erica was a high school rebel who made the mistake of letting her boyfriend give her a tattoo. She's never liked it, and now that she's auditioning to be a cocktail waitress, the tattoo has become a real liability.
Dirk is inspired by Erica's love of the water, but he's nervous that she'll be upset about the size of her new tattoo. Erica takes a look...
...and loves her new mermaid tattoo. Dirk says, "The great thing about the mermaid is you've got the top half, which is nice and clean, and the bottom is the tail, and that's where you can hide a lot of stuff because you have all those scales."
