On Saturday, September 27th The Recovery Project kicked off with a public rally in New York City, to celebrate the 19th anniversary of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. Thousands of people united from across the country for a historic walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to celebrate the promise of recovery. Together, we raised national awareness that addiction is a treatable disease, and recovery is possible!



The Recovery Rally was produced by A&E Network in partnership with the National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence (NCADD).



What is the Recovery Rally?

A FREE public event to celebrate people in recovery and pay tribute to those who support them.
The rally featured a historic walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to reinforce the message that anyone can cross their own bridge to recovery.

The celebration continued in City Hall Park with MC Mark Lundholm, live entertainment, and a special solo musical performance by Rufus Wainwright!



Who participated?

Thousands of people from all over the country, including local and national politicians, celebrities, non-profit leaders, people in recovery from all 50 states, family members, and supporters.
