• A rookie, he started at the MPD in 2008
• He was 25 years old when hired and is the youngest PEO in Detroit.
• Has a degree in journalism from Wayne State University.
• Would like to get into TV production as an on-air personality.
• Does great CSI Miami impressions
• Recently lost 70 lbs in less than a year.
• Has given himself the nickname "Mr. Perfection"

Sonja

• A rookie, she started at the MPD in 2008
• Worked in the medical field for 17 years before joining MPD
• Brings the compassion and empathy she learned working in a hospital to the job of parking enforcement.
• A native Detroiter, but has traveled the country.

Kim

• Started at the MPD in 2001
• Worked as a guard for an armored car
• Loves to recite quotes from movies.
• Thinks safety violations like parking at a fire hydrant should be a concern for everybody.
• Loves her pet pitbulls.
• Is engaged to be married.
• Used to work in booting. One time a totally naked man ran out of his house while she was booting his car.

Greg

• Started at the MPD in 1987
• Used to work as a museum guard
• Finds that responding calmly to irate citizens usually calms them down too.
• Is color blind.
• Pet peeve is being called "meter maid" the proper term is parking enforcement officer
• Has one son and two daughters
• Growing up he either wanted to be a police officer or a chef.

Norman

• Started at the MPD in 1997
• Likes the job because he enjoys interacting with people.
• Likes how he looks in a uniform. Keeps shoes shined and uniform neatly pressed.
• Has a 10 year-old daughter who knows all of the parking violations.
• Enjoys speaking about parking enforcement at his daughter's school.
• Has a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do, he took up martial arts after 3 guys jumped him on the job.

Louann

• Started at MPD in 2001
• Loves working with people and understands their points of view.
• Worst part of the job is being out in the snow.
• Loves to cook and feeds everyone.


• Married with 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren. Two of her daughters gave birth to twins.

Lachelle

• Started at the MPD in 2001
• Feels her job is to bring safety to the city.
• Used to work transporting juveniles for the state of Michigan and also worked as a shuttle bus driver and dialogue trainer at the Detroit airport.
• Has an Associates Degree in criminal justice.

Darryl

• Worked for the city for 27 years – first for the water department, then as a parking enforcement officer
• Served in the Navy
• He is retiring to be a full time musician
• Plays bass guitar in a soul/rock band and loves heavy metal
• His father worked for the city of Detroit for 30 years
• His wife is a police officer and a singer – they met at a gas station
• Throws a big block party every year for friends and neighbors

• Used to be a bus driver
• Keeps a Michigan driver's manual handy for citizens who disagree with their violation
• His mom taught him that if he wants respect, he has to give respect
