TVGuide.com announced today a customer advertising campaign unlike any other in the brand's 55-year history, in which the iconic TV Guide logo will be transformed for one day as part of a larger media buy for A&E Network's "Tattoo Highway." On May 27, 2009, TVGuide.com will alter its signature red logo to a tattoo-designed look to coincide with the series premiere of "Tattoo Highway." As part of a one-day "site takeover" advertising campaign, A&E Network's "Tattoo Highway" will be featured on every available ad unit across the entire TVGuide.com site. The ad buy will include series-branded animated wallpaper and a "roadblock" featured on the TVGuide.com home page.
"The site takeover campaign and transformation of our logo exemplify how we are evolving the TV Guide brand in today's digital environment," said Paul Greenberg, Executive Vice President and General Manager of TVGuide.com. "As TVGuide.com has grown to become a one-stop destination for online video, TV news, community and listings, advertisers know that they are reaching millions of highly engaged fans who are passionate about television."
"TVGuide.com has been a great partner in their ability to create innovative opportunities for us to reach or target viewers," said Lori Peterzell, Vice President of Consumer Marketing, A&E. "We are thrilled to be chosen by TVGuide.com as the first brand to transform their iconic logo and I cannot think of a more appropriate series than 'Tattoo Highway' to resonate with the website's core audience."
A&E's new unscripted series "Tattoo Highway" follows 15-year tattoo veteran and star of former A&E hit "Inked," Thomas Pendelton and his new business "Ministry of Ink" as he hits the road to transform personal stories into living art. Pendelton and his business partner and wife Monica have transformed a 1970s tour bus into a tattoo parlor on wheels, featuring a swanky interior and top-of-the-line tattooing equipment. It's a tattoo shop that can tattoo anyone, anywhere. Ride along as emotional limits and friendships are challenged and the persistent mechanical problems of a vintage bus are tested on the road, as "Tattoo Highway" proves to be one bumpy ride. "Tattoo Highway" premieres Wednesday, May 27 at 10PM ET/PT on A&E.
