The series premiere of A&E's newest series "Storage Wars" averaged two million viewers with back-to-back episodes at 10:00PM and 10:30PM on Wednesday, December 1, according to Nielsen Fast Nationals. The debut also doubled the launch of the Spike's "Auction Hunters," which also focuses on the world of storage unit auctions and premiered to just 1 million viewers.

The episodes, which averaged 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 25-54, also grew from the 10:00PM episode to the 10:30PM episode in all demos. The second episode grew by 18% in adults 25-54 (1.1 million to 1.3 million), 8% in adults 18-49 (1.2 million to 1.3 million and 5% in total viewers (2.0 million to 2.1 million). "Storage Wars" is now A&E's most watched Real Life series launch of 2010.

Each episode of A&E's "Storage Wars" follows a group of bidders as they get a quick peek inside the units, aided only by the beam of a flashlight. They then must assess on the spot if the unit is worth a bid and how high they will actually go to grasp the gold. The high-stakes fun begins as we see if the resulting buy is full of mostly trash... or true treasure. It's "get rich or die buyin'" in season one of "Storage Wars" as our wily auction heroes try to outfox one another in the pursuit of storage treasure.

"Storage Wars" is produced by Original Productions, a FremantleMedia Company ("Ice Road Truckers" and "Deadliest Catch") for A&E Network. Executive producers are Thom Beers and Philip D. Segal. Jeff Conroy is co-executive producer and Dolph Scott is series producer. A&E executive producers are Robert Sharenow and Elaine Frontain Bryant.
