Round Rock, TX - Kitchen Manager

Travis from A&E's HEAVY

Height: 5'9"

Start Weight: 431.2 lbs

End Weight: 333.0 lbs

“I wasn’t a good role model for my sons, I was just a lump on a couch. I needed to make a change and getting healthier was the only choice.”

Growing up, Travis developed most of his poor eating habits from his parents who were severely obese and died due to complications from their weight. Travis believes his addiction to food made him blind to the damage he was doing to his body. Doctors say he has a severe case of sleep apnea, which stops his breathing over 170 times throughout the night. He has also been diagnosed with pre-diabetes and high blood pressure. Married to his wife Laura for seven years, they have two young boys. If he doesn't lose weight soon, he will leave his wife widowed and his children fatherless, like his parents did to him.

Limitations:

  • -Can’t play outside with his sons
  • -Can’t take his family to the amusement park
  • -Can’t wear normal clothes
  • -Weight limits him from applying for the job he wants

Health Problems:

  • -Severe sleep apnea
  • -High blood pressure
  • -High cholesterol
  • -Easily fatigued

Stakes:

  • -Wants to be intimate with his wife and feels she has lost interest in him because of his weight
  • -Doesn’t want to leave his wife a widow
  • -Will have full blown diabetes in the near future if nothing changes
