Tim from A&E's HEAVY

Height: 4'2"

Start Weight: 240.2 lbs

End Weight: 173.4 lbs

“I’m grateful for this opportunity. I learned so much about portion control and being consistent, I am more healthy and active than ever.”

At only 4'2" tall, Tim is a little person who has struggled with his weight throughout his life. At the age of 15, he had to learn how to fend for himself when he lost his mom in a car accident that he survived. Tim turned to food as a way to cope with all of the pain he was experiencing and steadily gained weight. In addition to being pre-diabetic and suffering from sleep apnea, Tim's weight exacerbates the pre-existing health conditions he deals with because of his size, namely increased pressure on his internal organs that can lead to serious complications. Tim is looking to find love, as his last relationship, which he started online, fell apart when they met in person.

Limitations:

  • -Can’t walk or climb the stairs without feeling like he is going to pass out
  • -Can’t use certain gym equipment because of his size
  • -Frequently breaks stepstools he uses to reach things

Health Problems:

  • -Health issues are increased due to his weight in comparison to his small size
  • -Sleep apnea
  • -Pre-diabetic

Stakes:

  • -Wants to find love
  • -Wants to find work, worried his unemployment benefits are going to run out soon
