“I have learned to truly love myself in a constructive way, instead of destructively. The journey has been one of highs and lows, but every step has taken me closer to living the life I’ve always dreamed of!”

As an adopted child whose parents divorced when she was 9 years old, what Sharon remembers most about her childhood was how financially strapped they were. They were constantly asking family for money so that they could just buy food. The only memory she has of things being okay was when the freezer was full of frozen dinners. Sharon feels that her weight is holding her prisoner. She has trouble going up and down stairs in her house, can't attend her daughter's cheerleading practice and missed out on activities on a recent family retreat. She's tried many types of weight loss methods, including having her mouth wired shut, but nothing has been able to help her keep the weight off.
