This year, Sergeant Ed Spila returns to SWAT after serving 8 years as an undercover narcotics officer and 8 years in patrol. Early on in his career, Ed was shot in the line of duty with a 12-gage shotgun. The two rounds that hit him are still lodged in his back. This Chicago native looks forward to learning and growing along with his team. When he's not on duty, Sergeant Spila enjoys muscle car restoration and drag racing. He also has a passion for acting and can be seen on shows such as FOX's Prison Break, Walker Texas Ranger and various commercials.
