Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Kathryn Hahn's first big break came at an early age when she won a leading role on a locally produced syndicated children's television show called Hickory Hideout. Her love of acting took her from television to the stage. She appeared in numerous local theatrical productions before entering Chicago's Northwestern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in theater.
Pursuing her passion for theater, Kahn moved to New York City to gain more stage experience. She later attended the prestigious Yale School of Drama. She spent her summers performing at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and it was there she was spotted by a NBC casting executive.
This encounter eventually led to Kahn auditioning for and receiving her role on Crossing Jordan. "NBC and Tim Kring [Crossing Jordan’s creator and executive producer] took a huge leap of faith in casting me," she admits.
Since starting on Crossing Jordan, Kahn has made several films, including A Lot Like Love, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
In her spare time, Hahn likes to paint and practice yoga. Her birthday is July 23.
