Son of movie star Jose Ferrer and singer Rosemary Clooney, Miguel Ferrer has Hollywood in his blood. He initially began his career as studio musician and played drums on Keith Moon's "Two Sides of the Moon." It was through his band mate Billy Mumy—the original Will Robinson on the TV series Lost in Space—that he got his first acting role on the television series Sunshine.
Before Crossing Jordan, Ferrer appeared in the Emmy Award-winning miniseries Stephen King's The Stand and Drug Wars: The Camarena Story. He has also had guest-starring roles on Will & Grace and the pilot for ER and starred in the NBC comedy series Lateline. He also won much critical acclaim for his role on the series Twin Peaks, in which he played a FBI forensic expert.
He delivered another stand-out performance as a drug dealer who became a reluctant informer in the film Traffic. His other film credits include Another Stakeout; The Man; The Manchurian Candidate, Revenge; Silver City; Stephen King's The Night Flier; and Sunshine State. He also lent his voice to the animated feature Mulan.
When he can, Ferrer still plays music with Mumy, recording and performing in clubs with their band The Jenerators. Besides music, he also enjoys golfing and skiing. Ferrer currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons. His birthday is February 7.
