Criss Angel Mindfreak 6

Cement Shoes

CEMENT SHOES

As an homage to Harry Houdini’s most dangerous escape, Criss will be chained and shackled with over 100 feet of chains and more than 20 locks and hung from the side of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona in front of over 10,000 spectators. To make the escape even more impossible and drowning an almost certainty, Criss will have his feet imbedded in a barrel of cement before being lowered off the bridge and deep into the lake below.

DEMONSTRATION FACTS

  • Criss is traveling to Lake Havasu, Arizona, for his Houdini-esque escape: Cement Shoes.
  • Criss will be affixed with 21 padlocks, 100 feet of chain and a 300 lb. block of cement around his feet, lowered 90 feet of the edge of the London Bridge and plunged into 15 feet of water.
  • Founded in 1965 by Robert McCulloch, Lake Havasu City, Arizona is a popular tourist destination for those looking for sun and fun.
  • The London Bridge, which spans the lake, was purchased from the City of London for $2.5 million in 1968. It was disassembled, shipped to Arizona and reassembled brick by brick. The bridge is the second most visited tourist attraction in Arizona, second only to the Grand Canyon itself, and is designated as the largest antique in the world.
  • Cement shoes are a legendary method for mobsters to get rid of a rival...or make them, "sleep with the fishes."
