Stuart McLean:
Warming the Hearts of Canadians Everywhere
One of the best ways to reach people is through humor. Through his stories of family life and other adventures, Stuart McLean has touched people across the country. He hosts the CBC radio program, The Vinyl Cafi, and every weekend, thousands of Canadians tune in to hear what is happening in the lives of his popular characters, Dave, Morley, and their family.
There are times when nothing feels better than a good, long, laugh. This past winter, my family went skiing every Sunday, and at lunch, we would sit in the truck and eat our sandwiches, and listen to the Vinyl Cafi. More often than not, you could find us sitting there, in the gales of laughter, with tears streaming down our faces. It made us all feel good, and that is a wonderful gift indeed. Across the country, people find that they can relate to the happenings of the lives of the characters, and they find joy in listening to the stories.
Stuart McLean is a gifted storyteller who travels the country, visiting large cities and small communities alike, bringing laughter wherever he goes. His unique voice and excellent delivery are not soon forgotten. People from all parts of the country are enchanted by his wonderful storytelling, and his magical, marvelous, funny tales. In today's society, it is so rare to find such innocent, truthful comedy. By finding humor in the every day lives of a typical family, Stuart McLean continues to bring joy to the lives of Canadians.
