Experience It!
The Biography® Experience It! Teacher's Manual for Grades
6-12 is an educational outreach project that links your school with
your mayor's office through a multifaceted program of educational enrichment
and academic improvement. Created by A&E in partnership with the
U.S. Conference of Mayors, Biography® Experience It! can
strengthen your students' understanding of the power of the individual
in our nation and local communities.
The activities
include:
- "Working
with Biography" - learn how to write a resume and practice interview
skills
- "Taking
a Stand with Biography" - practice public speaking skills with
civic leaders as judges
- "Character
and Biography" - develop leadership skills and the characteristics
of successful people
- "Civics
and Biography" - with the participation of the mayor's office,
learn the importance of local government and good citizenship
