TEACHING WITH BIOGRAPHY®
The BIOGRAPHY® Project for Schools
A&E Network's Emmy award-winning educational initiative is committed to helping young people learn about the positive impact an individual can have on society. Through this initiative A&E Classroom has compiled BIOGRAPHY videos and teaching materials which allow teachers and students across the country to explore the lives of individuals who have had an important impact on our past. To purchase the kit, please click on the above link.

Last year the BIOGRAPHY Project focused on 6 extraordinary Americans: Jackie Robinson, Amelia Earhart, Benjamin Franklin, Henry Ford, Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglass. This year the Project is highlighting the works and achievements of four very diverse people: Mozart, Mark Twain, Pocahontas, and Ponce de Leon.

We hope you take advantage of all that the BIOGRAPHY Project has to offer so that the lives that shaped our past can influence the lives that will shape our future.

Biography® Experience It!
The Biography® Experience It! The activities include:
  • "Working with Biography" - learn how to write a resume and practice interview skills
  • "Taking a Stand with Biography" - practice public speaking skills with civic leaders as judges
  • "Character and Biography" - develop leadership skills and the characteristics of successful people
  • "Civics and Biography" - with the participation of the mayor's office, learn the importance of local government and good citizenship
