The Texas Cheerleader Plot

Football, cheerleaders and high school—enduring symbols of the adolescent rite of passage—but in a sleepy Texas town, the desire to be part of this world prompted one woman to plan to commit the unthinkable. Wanda Holloway, mother of a teen-ager who did not make the coveted place in the cheerleading squad, plotted to kill the young woman and her mother whom she blamed for her daughter’s misfortune. Wanda Holloway hired her ex-brother-in-law, Terry Harper, to murder Verna and Amber Heath to secure a spot for her daughter.
