George W. Bush: The Son Also Rises

He is heir to one of America's political dynasties. His grandfather was a senator, his father a president, and his brother, like himself, is a governor of a southern state. Gregarious, affable, well liked and with ample funding for his campaign, he was posed to become the next president of the United States. BIOGRAPHY takes a look at the man who now president of the United States. George W. Bush: The Son Also Rises would be useful for classes on American History, American Culture, Civics and Political Science. It is appropriate for middle school and high school.

Objectives
Students will examine the personal and political life of a presidential candidate. They will gain an understanding of George W. Bush's background, preparation and qualifications as a prospective president. They will also learn the effects of a candidate's decision to run for public office on his or her family.
